HANDMADE CALENDAR · PRIVACY
Privacy policy
Your days belong on your own pages.
Last updated: October 6, 2026
01A little calendar. Your records stay on your device.
Handmade Calendar does not require an account. Your chosen avatar, language and desk-clock preferences, daily activity selections and custom text, and stamp dates, styles, positions and activity snapshots are stored locally on your device. Avatar categories only filter built-in artwork; you do not need to provide or upload a real photo, name or gender information.
The app currently has no developer-operated account server, cloud sync, advertising SDK or third-party analytics/tracking SDK. It does not upload your custom text or stamp records to the developer. Device data may still be affected by your iOS backup, restore and device-management settings.
02Optional subscriptions have a specific purpose.
The basic calendar, local activity suggestions and stamps work offline. When you enable a calendar subscription, the app downloads an ICS file over HTTPS from the address you choose. Subscription addresses, events and update times are cached locally. ICS files selected through the system file picker are parsed locally and are not uploaded to the developer as a result of importing them.
When you enable a quotation subscription, the app requests a quotation from the selected service and caches its text, author, source and retrieval date on your device. Available sources include Hitokoto, ZenQuotes, Advice Slip, and Japanese and Korean quotation services. Calendar sources include Apple, Office Holidays, public calendars on GitHub and providers you add yourself.
Those services and their hosting platforms may receive your IP address, request time, requested path and ordinary network request information, and process access logs under their own policies. If a subscription URL includes an access token or other parameters, these are sent to that address with the request. Content requests do not include your custom text, stamp records or avatar choice.
Opening a source link launches its website in the system browser, where that website’s privacy policy applies. You can disable quotation sources or disable/remove calendar subscriptions in Settings. Disabling a source stops future content requests to it, although a request already in progress may finish.
03Widgets also stay on your device.
To display dates, activities, quotations and subscription events, the app writes recent content, language and time-zone information to a local app-group container for its own widget extension to read. This may include activity text you have edited. The container is not a cloud service and does not make this data public to other users or the developer.
Home Screen and Lock Screen widget content can be read by people who can see your screen. You can remove widgets through the system at any time.
04Permissions and device information.
The app does not request access to contacts, the camera, microphone, photo library or location. Dates, language and time zone come from system settings; the app does not use GPS to locate you. Importing an ICS file reads only the file you select in the system file picker.
Calendar subscriptions appear only inside this app. The app does not request system-calendar access or automatically write events into Apple Calendar. Keeping the home screen awake only adjusts auto-lock behavior while that screen is displayed in the foreground.
05Retention, deletion and secure transport.
Local content is retained so you can use it again. You can undo stamps, edit custom text, change preferences or remove subscriptions. These actions do not clear all cached app data. The app currently has no single control to erase all data.
Deleting the app, rather than merely offloading it, generally removes its local app data. Copies in system backups are retained according to system or backup-service settings. Widget shared data is managed by iOS. To remove data thoroughly, also remove related widgets and review your device’s backup settings.
Content subscriptions use system HTTPS transport. Keep your device and private subscription URLs containing access tokens secure. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
06Privacy on this webpage.
This is a static webpage. It contains no advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels or third-party font services and sets no site tracking cookies. On first visit it reads browser language preferences locally to select Chinese or English. When you change languages, only that language choice is saved in browser localStorage; clearing this site’s website data removes it.
The hosting provider, such as GitHub Pages, may process IP addresses and access logs under its own policies. Fonts, artwork and scripts are served from this same site. Clicking the email link opens your email app. We receive your contact information and message only if you choose to send an email, and use them to reply and handle your request.
07Children and policy updates.
The app does not actively request age information or children’s personal information. Avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information in custom text, private subscription links or support emails. Minors can choose third-party content sources with guidance from a parent or guardian.
If features or data practices change, we will update this page and its revision date and explain significant changes appropriately. This policy describes features currently implemented, not future accounts or services that have not been enabled.
08A question? Write to us.
For privacy or data-handling questions, or requests concerning information you have sent by email, contact the developer. We will review and respond according to your request.
